Adoption Fees

SWCHS does not have a veterinarian on staff and relies on partnerships with other facilities to meet the needs of the animals in our custody. For this reason we follow a program called Shelter Medicine. We only have the staffing and the resources to treat medical conditions if symptoms are present.

1 Rabies Vaccination – the feline you are interested in may or may not have received rabies vaccination. Without a veterinarian on staff (or if that animal has no reason to undergo a spay/neuter or any other surgery) it is impossible to secure enough veterinarian appointments to update rabies vaccinations. If the feline you are interested in adopting does NOT have one, this will be disclosed to you. You would take responsibility for vaccination by working with your own veterinarian after adoption.
