Dog surrender intakes are waitlisted!

At this time, SWCHS does not have the kennel capacity to immediately accept personal canine surrenders.

SWCHS currently has capacity only to accept stray canines from our specific service areas within Wood County Wisconsin.

Please be kind, patient, and understanding with staff as we are experiencing an increased number of abandoned and unclaimed pets and do not have enough kennels to immediately accept dog surrenders. We do have resources for rehoming links that you use to create a profile and rehome your pet yourself. These links can be found on the menu of this page under the “services tab” > “surrendered animals“. Whenever pets can go directly from your home to their next forever family we all experience a better outcome. Thank you!

For any further questions about surrendering a canine: please contact us to ask for the link to our pet owner surrender questionnaire so we can help you add your pet to the surrender waitlist. We have limited capacities and sometimes experience a large number of requests so we are not able to provide any estimate as to how long the wait will be.
