Dog Room Attendant

Shifts are 7:30am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-8:30pm

Job Responsibilities

Reports to Executive Director and Director of Animal Care.

  1. Clean and disinfect housing units following SWCHS procedure and product instructions.
    1. Replace or refresh food/water and bedding.
    2. Maintain cleanliness of kennel gates and walls.
  2. Maintain cleanliness of outdoor dog runs.
    1. Rotate dogs through outside potty & playtime per schedule. Clean all messes in outside kennel in between new dogs.
    2. Ensure dogs have access to fresh water outside at all times.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of visiting room, storage room and supply areas.
  4. Sweep and mop all floors.
    1. Maintain cleanliness of flooring grates.
  5. Sort all dirty laundry into the appropriate areas in laundry room.
    1. Reload washers, transfer into dryers and return clean laundry as necessary.
  6. Place dirty dishes and toys in kitchen area.
  7. Empty garbage cans as needed during cleaning.
  8. Greet visitors and volunteers as necessary.
    1. Ensure volunteers have completed the Dog Walking Waiver.
  9. Complete Dog Room Daily Logs.
  10. Complete Dog Room Enrichment Logs.
  11. Maintain Dog Walking Board.
  12. Ensure all daily tasks are complete by initially log located in kitchen. Turn in weekly log to Executive Director.
  13. Administer medications if necessary as directed by Director of Animal Care.
  14. Notify Director of Animal Care of any dogs without proper identification.
  15. Notify Director of Animal Care of any dog needing medical attention verbally and write on log outside office if Director of Animal Care is not available.
  16. Distribute donations to appropriate storage areas and maintain organization of storage areas.
    1. Monitor the use of donations based on expiration dates.
  17. Notify Director of Animal Care or Executive Director if supplies run low including animal care items and cleaning products.
  18. Restock station with supplies at end of shift.
  19. Any other responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Cat Room Attendant

Shift is 7:30am-12:00pm

Job Responsibilities

Reports to Executive Director and Director of Animal Care.

  1. Clean and disinfect housing units following SWCHS procedure and product instructions.
    1. Replace or refresh food/water, litter & bedding.
    2. Maintain cleanliness of kennel tops and sides and walls behind kennel units.
    3. Maintain cleanliness of playroom.
      1. Sanitize cat activity towers as needed.
    4. Maintain cleanliness and organization of visiting room, storage room and supply areas.
    5. Sweep and mop all floors.
    6. Sort all dirty laundry into the appropriate areas in laundry room.
      1. Reload washers, transfer into dryers and return clean laundry as necessary.
    7. Place dirty dishes and litter boxes in kitchen area.
    8. Empty garbage cans as needed during cleaning.
      1. At end of shift, hose out cans and place near wood pellets to dry.
    9. Complete Cat Room Daily Logs.
    10. Notify Director of Animal Care of any cats without proper identification.
    11. Notify Director of Animal Care of any cats needing medical attention verbally and write on log outside office if Director of Animal Care is not available.
    12. Administer medications if necessary as directed by Director of Animal Care.
    13. Ensure all daily tasks are complete by initially log located in kitchen. Turn in weekly log to Executive Director.
    14. Restock station with supplies at end of shift.
      1. Refill litter can and maintain stock of 6 bags of litter inside at all times.
    15. Distribute donations to appropriate storage areas and maintain organization of storage areas.
      1. Monitor use donations based on expirations dates.
    16. Notify Executive Director or Director of Animal Care if supplies run low including animal care items and cleaning products.
    17. Any other responsibilities as assigned.
