Adoption - Feline
$25.00 adoption fee + spay/neuter deposit*

The adoption fee includes a distemper vaccine, flea and tick bath, and de-worming. All cats that are not spayed/neutered must put down a $50 deposit. This deposit is refundable if the cat is spayed/neutered according to the terms laid out in the adoption contract.

Adoption - Canine
$55.00 adoption fee + spay/neuter deposit*

The adoption fee includes rabies, distemper/parvo and bordatella vaccinations, flea and tick bath, and de-worming. A dog training class is offered free for any dog adopted from the shelter by the Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club. We reserve the right to require all purebred animals to be spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter. For any dog that is not spayed/neutered, the adopter must put down a $75 deposit. This deposit is refundable if the dog is spayed/neutered according to the terms laid out in the adoption contract. (It is possible, depending on when the vet comes for a dog not to receive the rabies vaccine. For these dogs you will not be charged for the vaccine.)

Surrender - Any Pet
$30.00 surrender fee

The surrender fee is NOT required if you are from within our contracted areas.

Microchipping
$20.00 (optional service, discounted when adopting)

We offer a discount if you microchip your pet when you are adopting it from us. If you wait and decide to have us microchip it at a later date, it will cost you $25. Microchipping is a great way to help your pet find its way back to you if it should ever wander away or bolt when frightened.

*Many of our pets have spay/neuter sponsors. This money is donated that goes towards the animals spay or neuter. Spay/neuter deposits are non-refundable. Also please note that these deposit amounts may not reflect actual vet charges for spay or neuter surgeries. Spay/neuter prices vary by vet, gender, animal size and type.
