The following is a list of upcoming events for the Building Hope Capital Campaign. Please forward this email on to all your friends and have them forward it on to theirs.
Please feel free to post this on your Facebook pages and websites! Twitter if you got it!
January 19th – Business After Hours
SWCHS will be hosting a Business After Hours at the Guardian Inn from 5pm – 6:30pm. This is the official kick off of the campaign. Food and refreshments available along with fun raffles. The media will be present to announce the beginning of our public campaign and will also be doing a feature on the best selling new book “A Paw Print on Hope”. This book costs $25 and is entirely paid for, so all the money goes directly into the campaign. Books will be displayed and available at this event.
February 13th (8am – 12pm) Calling All Pet Lovers
This is a calling campaign aimed toward reaching supporters of the shelter that may not be aware of the building needs. This initiative is being coordinated by our board member Tracey Stratton and is in need of additional volunteers. The calling would be simple and non intrusive with a script simply asking if the individual would be willing to accept information about the shelter via mail or email.
March 17th – Haircuts for Hope
This is a grass roots initiative headed by board member, Kim Heuer. She will be donating proceeds from haircuts at her business, By Design, on this date, while challenging other salons and groomers to do the same.
March 27th – Petapalooza
One day big party held at the Wildhorse Saloon. Music, food, competitions, raffles and kids games. Several local bands have already signed on. Food will begin at breakfast with a polka band. Other bands as of right now include: The Locals, Rattlesnake & Eggs, and more to be announced. The event will go from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm. This event is being headed by our director of the SWCHS, Phil Hartley.
Wednesdays in May - Club Forest Bar & Grill
For the entire Month of May Club Forest Tavern will be donating 10% of their proceeds every WEDNESDAY to the SWCHS Capital Campaign. Make sure to make your lunch and supper dates at Club Forest. Or your cocktail dates!
May 5th – The Call for Hope
Citizens will be “kenneled” at the Guardian Inn and call friends to arrange their “rescue”; or possible could be staying for a period of time because someone believed they were a “stray”. Local law enforcement figures Kurt Heuer and Tom Reichert will help with the event. This event runs similar to the Jail & Bail events.
May 15th – Pipes for Pets - The Ride for Hope
This event will be a motorcycle/car ride event hosted by Octane Bar. Poster
June 10th – Iron Chef Competition
We are currently still working on a location. The basic idea would be to gather chefs from 6-8 area sponsoring restaurants to prepare 3-4 dishes using a secret ingredient revealed earlier that day, perhaps at an event like Lunch by the River. After the announcement, each chef would be allowed a limited prep period to go back to their sponsoring kitchen to prep from a predetermined limited list of pantry ingredients. Then the chefs would reconvene at the serving location and cook using only a commercial grill and saucepans, under the watchful eye of the guests and judges who would be appointed by businesses who agree to sponsor this event. Area taverns could get in on the action by stocking the bar and providing the bartenders for the evening. Seats to the event would be sold in advance and a patron would pre-select their table according to the culinary style of the chef assigned to cook for that table. The sky is the limit to how much could be raised that evening if a raffle were incorporated etc. If cooking or party planning is your thing please consider getting involved in the Iron Chef fundraiser. This fundraiser will be headed by SWCHS board member, and owner of Great Expectations Catering, Amy Scheid.
Board member, Amy Kolo, will be sending out periodic emails detailing our upcoming events, news and such. Please then forward these email on to your friends, and have them do the same. You may also post any information about our events on your websites, Facebook pages, Twitter, and marquee signs. Please feel free to post our informational video on your Facebook pages, websites, or forward emails also! Our video is located at www.swchs.com/campaign. This site is also our informational highway to how our campaign is moving along and all events related to the campaign. We also have a "donate now" button located on our website for those who wish to donate monies toward our furry friends new home.
We are also looking for any cute and/or funny videos of pets/animals to post on our YouTube account. If a YouTube video has a lot of hits, YouTube actually attaches advertising to the video and the account will the receive a portion of the advertising dollars! If you have any videos that you would like to donate to the SWCHS’s YouTube site, please contact Amy Kolo or Phil Hartley.
